About Organizer

Institute of Horticulture Technology (IHT), established in 2009 under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Grameen Vikas Sanstha,a premier National Institute empaneled by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is organizing ‘Horti India 2017’ at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Dr. K.L. Chadha, Padma Shri Awardee and a renowned horticultural scientist of National andInternational repute chairs the Advisory Committee of eminent experts that guide the Institute’sfunctioning.

The Institute envisions capacity building in technology driven horticulture to meet the increasingdemands of the fast developing horticulture industry of the country. It provides ‘Hands on Trainings’ to farmers and officials from public and private organization, at its main campus, besides, on-site trainingin states at district / block levels. The comprehensive training imparted at the institute caters to theneeds and demands of horticulture industry involved in production of horticulture produce.

IHT has been successfully organizing trainings in Hi Tech Horticulture of various durations since 2009,so far Institute has conducted trainings for thousands of farmers, government officials andentrepreneurs from different states of India like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim,Uttrakhand, union territories- Andamanand Nicobar Islands, and Southeast Asian countries mainly Bahrain, Bangladesh,Afghanistan etc.

In addition annual events are being organized, those events were inaugurated byV.I.P.’s like Governors, Union/State Ministers and Secretaries to Government of India and attended bypolicy planners, entrepreneurs, participants from corporate sectors and farmers across different statesof India. These events were well received and attracted wide coverage in national newspapers and TVchannels through popular programmes like Krishi Darshan.

Objectives of IHT

  • Train manpower to cater to the requirements of the horticulture sector.
  • Offer short term and long term coursesfor different stakeholders in horticulture
  • Promotion of interaction among different stakeholders by organizing different annual events.
  • Organize mega events in horticulture and expert talks providing a platform for transferable skills and knowledge to the farmers and officials.
  • Refine and customize innovative technologies
